As part of our blog we have created a new category called Things We Love where we will be posting articles about eye-catching designs, fascinating products and anything from a tech and creative world that makes us here, in our Cardiff offices, go wow!

First on the line are these fantastic posters recently released to public by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

There’s no doubt that interest in interstellar travel and space exploration is on the rise again. Blockbuster movies such as The Interstellar and The Martian have sparked imagination of audiences worldwide, while private tech companies such as SpaceX and Virgin Galactic work day and night on making space travel possible to all of us.

Now NASA have released 14 stunning, retro-inspired space travel posters which take us on a futuristic trip around our solar system and beyond.

Each poster tells a story of a different celestial object and its unique astrological features.

Let’s take Ceres for example, the closest dwarf planet to our Sun and the capital of the Asteroid Belt.  It has been reached in 2015 by the Dawn spacecraft which reveled interesting composition of rock and ice with possible water lakes under the surface.

Another poster that instantly captured our attention is the beautifully designed The Grand Tour poster. It shows how Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune all align to create so called ‘gravity assist’ which allows spacecrafts to use the gravity of those planets to propel them further into space. This alignment happens once every 175 years and has been last used in 1977 by the Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 probes on their path to visit Saturn.

All the posters are available in high-res and free for downloading and printing on NASA’s website.

We’re heading back to Earth now to work on new Cardiff web design projects.
